Well worth the effort of exploring the far north of Lanzarote and paying this viewing area a visit as you get some absolutely stunning views over the bay and nearby island
It has the strange and quirky architecture you come to expect from the artist who has created many of the similar attractions to be found on Lanzarote
We visited here as part of an organised 'North Island’ tour and were very impressed with it. (not knowing how much it was to gain entry)
We recently re-visited with friends on a drive round the island, and need somewhere for coffee and a comfort break. Very disappointed with the high entry cost, and although the coffee and views were excellent, it did not justify the high entry cost.
If you want the view, then park just below the summit and walk down the public road for about 100 yrds. The view is just as good. and if you need a comfort break, look for the Aloe Vera visitor centre down towards Orzola, that is a good stop and they have toilets.
Nearly didn’t bother visiting this attraction. Glad we did. We spent the day on La Gracioso island and although it was late we decided to go up to the cliff top. Wow what a view. We could see the whole of the island. Enjoyed a smoothie looking at where we had just spent the day. The view was breathtaking but it was quite windy too.
Basically, this is a lookout over the water. There is a cafe with nice light snacks (lovely paninis) and tables in the window overlooking the island of La Graciosa. It is an amazing sight but not really worth the entrance fee as that’s all there is. A small gift shop is located upstairs. This is not somewhere you will spend long at all visiting.
it is well worth paying the admission price to see the different views from different parts of the building. Would recommend going all the way up to the top, not just for the views but to see how the building has been fitted into the landscape.
There are telescopes but would recommend bringing binoculars if you have them.
Inside the building, Manrique’s mobile is very striking and there are several sculptures too.
We came from Arrieta, which is only 10km away. It was wild and windy there but at the Mirador there was hardly any wind and the sea was much calmer – the difference was amazing.
We had a fresh orange, coffee and apple cake in the restaurant and the the food was fresh and everything tasted good.
The first coach arrived at 11.40am so if you’re in a car, try to arrive before then for a morning visit and experience the tranquillity.
Definitely recommend visiting this place as the view is absolutely breath-taking. There is a cafe with floor-to-ceiling windows on the top where you can have your coffee with this wonderful view. Of course there is a site outside where you can enjoy the scene and take the pictures.
Situated at the north of the island, only a couple of possible routes to get here (google maps does fine). It wasn’t too busy when we arrived yet the 20 or so car parking spaces were already taken and there were already quite a lot of cars parked on the roadside. For the awful lack of parking (leading to people haphazardly parking all over the place) I dropped them a rating. With the money they make (entrance fee plus they sell food and drink) they need to invest in turning some on the surrounding land into parking.
The views were stunning and with the weather there, it’s not like it’s wet very often! Very windy outside the building and some very steep drops so don’t go too near the railing if you don’t like heights! The building itself was also interesting to wander around.
Not somewhere you’re likely to spend hours but if you have hired a car and are travelling around the island, worth a visit.
